January Game Changers’ of the Month: @worldcupcinema An organization making major waves in 2014 #NoCriticsJustArtists

Introducing – a revolution in film festivals taking placeWCC14
this fall in Seoul, Korea. There are over a thousand film festivals happening world-wide every year, so what makes this one so special?
Well, here’s how it works:
This April WCC14 will begin accepting feature film submissions on Withoutabox from 193 countries in 8 regions of the world.
  • Fans will be able to view trailers for all of these on their website and iPhone/Android mobile apps and vote on the top 32 films they’d like to see.
  • In August, they will post the 32 features for the world to see and vote 16 films into the Quarter-Finals.
  • From October 10-12th, they’ll screen all 16 films in Seoul before festival-going fans and an international panel of celebrity judges, who will narrow the field down to 8. The voting for the Semi-Finals will be weighted 50% fans and 50% judges.
  • They’ll then invite the top two filmmakers for an all-expenses-paid trip to Seoul, where the judges will decide the World Champion of Cinema for 2014.
For filmmakers, WCC14 is an amazing opportunity to have their features seen world-wide by audiences and distributors, who will have a keen interest in the festival screenings because, for the first time ever, they will have hard numbers from three rounds of feedback on what audiences really want to see.
So mark your calendars for this April, and we’ll see you in Seoul!

October Game Changer of the Month* Brandon Bain of @capsulocity {dot com} #NoCriticsJustArtists

New to the game, is a humble ‘Cool-Hep Cat’ (Yes-Hep!) by the way of Brooklyn, New York. And by the game, we mean, the ‘Modern Art Movement’ scene. Vocalist & CAPSULOCITY founder, Brandon Bain has blended new media and the richness of classic Jazz; resulting in a ‘ fresh-new’ variety video series entitled; CAPSULOCITY [bridging both eras together.]

The series features emerging Jazz artists from New York.

While many music geared video series, now days, lose its sizzle just after a few months from monotonous content, CAPSULOCITY has a niche that can make its copycats think twice about trying to duplicate. “That’s Killin’ is the segmented niche CAPSULOCITY will host to separate themselves from the rest, the segment will feature artist within the same genre (Jazz) performing an unrehearsed piece.

“It’s just a raw and great moment!”

Magic happens. It an exclusive, unrehearsed moment. That’s what Capsulocity is about.”

-Brandon Bain

JazzCap Interview Series airs Wednesdays

That’s Killin’ airs Fridays

Capsulocity Presents airs Saturdays
